First off, let me say that I am really bummed about having to leave this apartment, but due to financial and personal reasons, I'm hoping to find someone to take over the lease. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Super quiet, super safe residential neighborhood. About a 10 minute drive to UCLA and about 15 mins to SMC. A two minute walk take you to Santa Monica Bvld with access to two indie movie theaters, a ton of restaurants, a VONS, and Fro-Play, the best frozen yogurt place ever. A two minute drive take you to Trader Joe's or Ralph's. About 5 blocks from an entrance to the 405 and only a 5 minute drive to the 10. As a student at USC, the commute to school was only about 20-25 minutes. Completely worth it to live in this neighborhood. Also, the apartment is two blocks from the police station, and about 5 minute walk to Post Office, and the West LA Municpal area (where they have a fantastic Farmer's Market on Sundays). Also, there is a great YMCA about a 15 minute walk away. A 10 minute bikeride takes you to the Stoner Recreation Center with a pool, baseball and soccer fields, basketballs courts, and a walking path. THE BUILDING: Pretty quiet. A few UCLA students, and a few families. Dogs and cats are welcome with a deposit, so don't worry about Fido or Fluffy being left out. The building has assigned covered parking spaces (and you get a space with the apartment - no additional charge) and street parking is plenty in the neighborhood. Laundry on premises, coin-op. Brick entryway, full of flowers. Well maintained by outside landscaping company. Outdoor storage in front of the apartment for bicycles and other gear. Manager on the property. THE APARTMENT: One of the largest kitchens you'll see for this price (actually has enough room for two people to cook in!), dishwasher, gas range, and fridge. Currently, in the main room I have a dining area, office space, and living room without being on top of one another. There is so much space in here! Apartment also comes with a wet bar(they're coming back) and a gas fireplace. There is a .5 bath off the living room space. The bedroom is very spacious and features a huge walk in closet. Another great thing, this apartment has amazing storage place, and enough room that my boyfriend could store all his man toys (fishing stuff, camping gear, and snowboard). The main bath is decent size and has a tub shower with glass doors. Carpeted floors, and your own private balcony overlooking the street (not the alley! BONUS!). Trash is included in rent, but all other utilities are paid for by the tenant. A/C included in unit, but I've never even turned it on. The house is shaded and stays amazingly cool, so no need to crank up the A/C. As I stated , this apartment is amazing and I'm upset that I have to move. But if you're looking for a truly fantastic apartment in a wonderful neighboorhood, this is the place for you. This apartment is the perfect size for a couple, and rent split, its amazingly affordable for this area. You won't find an apartment for this size and this price in THIS area. Plenty of room for two people without being up in each other's business (if you know what I mean). If you decide to move-in, you will be signing a full-term (one year) lease.
